Even upon his death, the King of Pop continues to be a bright, wanted and guaranteed superstar. The documentary makes quite a hit with the theaters around the world.

Michael Jackson's film has sold out hundreds of screening across the United States of America -- a month before its release. Sales broke international records also. Records sales were reported in Japan, Belgium, New Zealand, Sweden and UK, where were bought more than 30,000 tickets on the first day.

The concert documentary, directed by Kenny Ortega - Jackson's creative partner and friend, captured Michael Jackson at work as he created and perfected his final show. The film was more than a movie, because it was another look at Michael Jackson - private, privileged and perceptive.

This Is It Movie - Synopsis

This exclusive film is quite a hit. Movie goers got a chance to see the last and rare behind-the-scene footage of the King of Pop's last rehearsals. During the film, Michael Jackson works himself to the point of exhaustion. He rehearses his songs till he gets perfect sound. He refines all movements till he gets the perfect ones. This is it movie is not only about Michael Jackson's unique dance technique, it is also about Jackson's work ethic and creative genius. He even cared about and actively participated and edited all the special effects - with the fireworks and light effects, with all that energy and electricity stuff!

The fans and viewers from one of the theaters in Columbus, Ohio, who came to see the premiere, witnessed amazing costumes, great lyrics and top-class choreography. In This is it film - the Gloved one was assisted by 11 dancers on the stage. These young people were selected by Michael personally out of a hundred. All of this is shown in the film. Michael Jackson's costumes were not just for the stage. With Kenny Ortega and the team, Jackson revives the 'Thriller' zombie dance. It was performed for the first time in full costume at Jackson's final rehearsal, the day before his untimely death.

This is it movie covers entire Jackson's career - from his early days in 'Jackson 5' in the 1960s to that time, when the King of Pop rarely performed and only occasionally recorded. Michael Jackson was preparing for his fans such hits as 'Thriller', 'Billie Jean', 'Beat it, 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Human Nature', 'Jam', Wanna Be Startin' Something' and 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You', 'Earth Song', 'Black or White', 'Man in The Mirror', 'I'll Be There' and 'I Want You Back'.

This is it movie includes a production number and short black-and-white film celebrating such classics as the noir dramas 'In a Lonely Place' and 'Gilda', and also a comedy 'His Girl Friday'. Michael Jackson segues into it by way of 'Smooth Criminal' - a hit from his album 'Bad', 1987.

The majority of the movie's footage was shot at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, in June 2009, and at the Forum in Inglewood, California. This is it was intended to be the title for the series of 50 career-reviving concerts by Jackson. The concerts had been scheduled to begin in July 2009 and continue through March 2010.

To turn the footage into a movie, which is in 3-D also, Sony paid $60 million to concert producer AEG and Michael Jackson's Estate for rights. The film is culled from more than 100 hours of rehearsal footage.
